Terms of Service
Effective January 1, 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using TeXpress.
Your manuscript is your intellectual property. TeXpress never claims ownership of your content, never sells it, and never uses it to train AI models. You can export or delete your work at any time.
1. Using TeXpress
TeXpress is a web application that helps you turn manuscript drafts into properly formatted LaTeX documents for academic and technical publishing. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity that happens under your account. Let us know immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. Your content stays yours
You retain full ownership of the manuscripts, figures, references, and other content you upload or create in TeXpress ("your content"). We ask for a limited license to store, process, and transform your content solely to provide the service to you, for example extracting structure from an uploaded document or compiling it to a PDF. That license ends when you delete the content or close your account. We will never use your content to train AI models without your explicit consent, and we will never sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
4. AI assisted extraction and fixes
TeXpress uses third party AI providers to extract structured content from uploaded documents and to suggest fixes for LaTeX compile errors. These features are provided "as is": AI output can be imperfect, and you are responsible for reviewing anything it produces before you rely on it (see also our Disclaimer). If you use your own API key ("BYOK"), requests made with that key are billed directly by your provider under your agreement with them, not by TeXpress.
5. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through our payment processor, Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel or change your plan at any time from your account's billing settings. Changes take effect at the start of your next billing period, and we do not provide refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use TeXpress to upload content you do not have the rights to, to abuse or overload the service, or to attempt to circumvent plan limits or security controls. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
7. Service availability
We aim to keep TeXpress available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, TeXpress and DataMeta Lab are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including issues with AI generated content, compile output, or manuscript formatting.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know by email or with a notice on the site. Continuing to use TeXpress after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
